UAB Baseball has joined the fight against childhood cancer for their Strike Out Cancer event which has been rescheduled due to inclement weather on Saturday, April 26. The Blazers will host Marshall at 2:00 p.m. at Regions Field. A number of players will be shaving their heads to help raise awareness.
1 in 5 children diagnosed with cancer will not survive. Be a part of this changing reality.
Donations from the evening will benefit the Vs. Cancer Foundation which is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts. In 2013, 40,663 kids battling cancer were impacted by Vs. Cancer.
50% of the funds will go directly to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center’s pediatric division, and 50% will benefit national childhood cancer research. Basically- we believe that we need to invest in our kids of tomorrow, while also helping kids just be kids even while battling cancer.
